Indian team won silver in Asian Junior Cadet Championship

Ulaanbaatar (Mongolia), Sep 4, The Indian boy's team settled for a silver medal at the Asian Junior Cadet Championships after losing the final 0-3 to top seed China but the second-place helped them qualify for the World Junior Championships.

Coach Bet Clarke started with Regan Albuquerque, but the Mumbai player lost to Ju Yingbin 7-11, 8-11, 9-11.

India's number one player Manush Shah got off to a good start but was beaten by world number six Xiang Peng 7-11, 12-10, 5-11, 9-11.

In the third singles, Anukram Jain also could not stand up to a speed of Liu Yebo and the Chinese beat them 11-6, 11-4, 11-5.

The individual competitions for the championship will begin on Thursday.
